  •  Notes
    • A further inventory and appraisement of the estate of William Darwin (1.01) also appears in the Louisa County Will Book 3 (p. 424). We have not yet examined this document, which is dated 20 June 1791 and recorded at court 8 August 1791, but an extract was prepared by Gayle K. Blankenship:

The inventory of the estate of William Durvin was taken June 10, 1791 by appraisers Nathaniel Pulliam, Zachariah Edwards, and George Gentry. Jesse Durvin was the Executor. Since the inventory was taken five years after the death of William, we can assume it was returned at the death of his wife, Jane. It included 5 cows, 4 calves, 4 steers, 5 sheep, 18 hogs, 2 horses, 9 bee hives, 2 beds & furniture, a cotton wheel, farming tools, kitchen utensils, carpenter's tools, a gun, 1 chest at William Ward's, parcel of old books, 6 chairs and table totalling 75 pounds 5 shillings 6 pence.

The William Ward referenced herein is presumed to be the husband of Agnes Darwin (2.01), and is critical evidence in demonstrating their relationship.
